Belated and somewhat odd article on the Dawn Page, Barbara Nash issue and the difference between nutritionists and dietitians.: "The interaction of food with medicine is a key example: if you're on some antidepressant s, eating hard cheese can cause severe headaches; certain cholesterol-lo wering drugs don't work as well if you drink grapefruit juice. Without proper scientific training, nutritionists lack this key knowledge. There is another type of 'nutritio nist' who has had the proper training and abides by an ethics code - state-register ed dieticians. They're governed by a Government regulatory body, the Health Professions Council. You can't call yourself a dietitian or use the title 'state-re gistered dietitian' ; unless you have either completed a dietetic degree or sat your post-degree diploma, which includes a lot of the same physiological and medical training that doctors undergo. "
